Chinese medicine can offer powerful complementary support through every stage of a cancer diagnosis, from active treatment through recovery. If you or someone you love is currently powering through cancer–let Chinese medicine be your secret weapon.  Acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine can safely and effectively help cancer patients manage many symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and its treatments.

All types of cancer, at any stage, can benefit from acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapies because of their ability to address the many physical and emotional imbalances that occur alongside the disease. Dr. Lisa Franzetta has extensive experience working with patients being treated for cancers including

  • Breast cancer

  • Lung cancer

  • Colorectal cancer

  • Nasopharyngeal cancer

  • Adrenal cancer

  • Prostate cancer

  • Endometrial cancer

  • Thyroid cancer

  • Cervical cancer

  • Leukemia

  • and other diseases

Acupuncture and herbal medicine can be used in conjunction with Western medical treatments for cancer, and all acupuncture treatments are carefully coordinated to safely support your healing. At Griffin Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine, we welcome connection with the other members of your integrative oncology support team, including oncologists, physical therapists, and lymphatic drainage specialists.

Chinese medicine is incredibly safe and supportive for cancer patients when provided by a licensed practitioner who is experienced in working with cancer patients and knowledgeable about Western treatment protocols. Dr. Lisa has trained with integrative oncology specialist Dr. Bianca Di Giulio and has worked as a regular volunteer at the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic in Oakland, which provides no-cost complementary care to underserved women with cancer.

Questions about how Chinese medicine can support you or a loved one through cancer treatment?

“Dr. Franzetta was part of my integrative medicine team when I underwent treatment for rectal cancer during COVID.  Meeting virtually with Lisa on a weekly basis to discuss the turbulence of the Western treatment, she was easy to talk to, listened attentively, never made me feel rushed, and asked questions that my other doctors were not.

In conjunction with acupuncture, Lisa recommended herbal supplements and exercises to prepare and treat my body through the various stages of treatment. This counterbalance to the powerful chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries was exactly the informed kind of care that helped me stay mentally & physically strong and supported by being in tune with my whole body. Dr Lisa had a thorough understanding of the impacts of the conventional treatment and adjusted remedies along the way. With the cancer treatment over, I continue to utilize practices learned from Dr. Lisa and highly recommend her.”
